24/96 Audio In DVD-Video Format
October 17th, 2006
I just wanted to clear up a little confusion about the DVD release We’re Still Here. It is NOT a DVD-Audio format disc. It is in DVD-Video format. 24 bit/96khz audio is possible in the standard DVD-V format. This is the usual format you would get movies in. The reason that people are not used to this idea is that movies (including all the extras) normally have to much visual material for hi-rez audio to be a viable option. While there is a lot of filmed material on this release, the main focus is still obviously the audio so that’s why there is the emphasis on the 24/96 and 5.1 mixes.
